Ascend Cloud - Edit a Customer

Edit a Customer Record

To Edit a Customer record from within Ascend Cloud, you will need to access the Customer record from the transaction screen.

Click the Customer name just above Search Products.

When you open the Customer record, you can edit fields by:

  • Clicking/tapping directly into the field.
  • Clicking the Pencil icon next to the field.
  • Clicking Edit button in the bottom right corner.

After making any changes, be sure to click the Update button to save them.

Address Integration

When entering an address, the new MapBox integration will automatically complete and validate the address information for you.

Marketing 

The Marketing checkbox is the same as Include in Communications within the existing Ascend Client.

Create a Customer Comment

You can create a Customer Comment without editing the Customer record. Comments are displayed from newest to oldest, unless marked as Important.

To add a comment: 

  1. Click into the Customer Comments box and enter your information. 
  2. Click the add button next to the comments box to save it.

Flagging Customer Comments

In Ascend Cloud, you can set Customer Comments to Public or Private, and flag them as Important.

To update a comment:

  1. Click the edit button on the specific Customer Comment. 
  2. Choose whether to make it Public or Private, or flag it as Important.

Public to Private

  1. Select the comment you'd like to change from Public to Private or Private to Public.
  2. Click on the Pencil icon.
  3. Click on Private or Public.
  4. Click the Checkmark to Save the update.

Important Comments

Remember: Important Customer Comments will always appear at the top of the list, no matter when they were created.

To flag a comment as Important: 

  1. Select the comment you'd like to flag. 
  2. Click the Pencil icon. 
  3. Click the Star icon. 
  4. Click the Checkmark to save the update.
