Shopify integration with Ascend | Beta now open
To learn more or get started, contact the Ascend Business Development Team at sales@ascendrms.com.
While there is no automated product creation between Ascend and Shopify, we do offer an export of your Ascend products formatted for import into Shopify.
Notes:
- This export is not available unless your Ascend and Shopify front/backend integration is complete.
- This will export Ascend products marked for eCommerce from your Ascend Database.
- Shopify limits the number of products that can be created through import to 5,000 products at a time. You will need to break your product export down with the proper column headers in order to import into Shopify.
Shopify Product Export
- Log into Ascend HQ.
- Click Settings > Scheduled Reports and Exports.
- Click Add Scheduled Report or Export.
- Select Shopify Product Export from the Report/Export dropdown.

- Format must be CSV.
- Select a Location.

- Select Category: You can export the data for All Categories (Select All), Items in No Category, or by Specific Category/Categories.
- Note: If you are selecting by Specific Category, you will need to select each category. Selecting a Parent category will not automatically select Child categories.

- Enter Email To.

- Frequency is greyed out as it is a One-Time report.
- Report(s) For: Use the Report(s) For to export products created within a certain date range.

Include All Products: Select this option if you'd like to have all products exported instead of only those created in a date range.
Note: If you leave a specific category/categories selected it will export all products that have been categorized within those selected categories.

Include Category in Export: This will include your Ascend category in the export file (helpful for searching/sorting the file).
Note: You cannot leave this column to import into Shopify. The Shopify and Ascend category structures are completely different and the file will not import with it in the file.

- Click Export.
- Click OK to Test Success! prompt. This is confirmation the email has been sent (can take up to 15 minutes to receive the email).

- Click Cancel on the Export screen. This will not Cancel the email you've sent, but instead close out the Export request.
- Click the Shopify_Product_Export link in the email to download the file.

- Right-click the file and select Extract All.
- Double-click the Excel file. The file is formatted for import into Shopify.
