Shopify integration with Ascend | Beta now open

To learn more or get started, contact the Ascend Business Development Team at sales@ascendrms.com.

While there is no automated product creation between Ascend and Shopify, we do offer an export of your Ascend products formatted for import into Shopify.

Notes:

  1. This export is not available unless your Ascend and Shopify front/backend integration is complete.
  2. This will export Ascend products marked for eCommerce from your Ascend Database.
  3. Shopify limits the number of products that can be created through import to 5,000 products at a time. You will need to break your product export down with the proper column headers in order to import into Shopify.

Shopify Product Export

  1. Log into Ascend HQ.
  2. Click Settings > Scheduled Reports and Exports.
  3. Click Add Scheduled Report or Export.
  4. Select Shopify Product Export from the Report/Export dropdown.

  1. Format must be CSV.
  2. Select a Location.

  1. Select Category: You can export the data for All Categories (Select All), Items in No Category, or by Specific Category/Categories.
    1. Note: If you are selecting by Specific Category, you will need to select each category. Selecting a Parent category will not automatically select Child categories.

  1. Enter Email To.

  1. Frequency is greyed out as it is a One-Time report.
  2. Report(s) For: Use the Report(s) For to export products created within a certain date range.

Include All Products: Select this option if you'd like to have all products exported instead of only those created in a date range.

Note: If you leave a specific category/categories selected it will export all products that have been categorized within those selected categories.

Include Category in Export: This will include your Ascend category in the export file (helpful for searching/sorting the file).

Note: You cannot leave this column to import into Shopify. The Shopify and Ascend category structures are completely different and the file will not import with it in the file.

  1. Click Export.
  2. Click OK to Test Success! prompt. This is confirmation the email has been sent (can take up to 15 minutes to receive the email).

  1. Click Cancel on the Export screen. This will not Cancel the email you've sent, but instead close out the Export request.
  2. Click the Shopify_Product_Export link in the email to download the file.

  1. Right-click the file and select Extract All.
  2. Double-click the Excel file. The file is formatted for import into Shopify.
